Proverbs 18:7 ( KJV):

A fools mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

New Living Translation:

A mouth of fools is their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips.

Have you ever heard of the saying don’t write a check that your butt can’t cash? It all starts out by what we allow to come out of our mouths. We have the potential to cause our own demise based upon what we allow to pass through our lips. We must begin to think before we speak. If you know that you struggle with saying things that you really don’t mean, saying the right thing with the wrong tone or even talking to much and giving up to much information then you need to start to give yourself a ten second delay before you speak.

Many people are reaping the harvest of words that they allowed to enter into the atmosphere. It is important that we understand that our words hold weight and can be a lethal weapon.  As we seek the more of God and surrender to His will, we must remain cognizant of our language. Don’t fall into the traps and snares that has been set before you. Remember that as you seek to become a master of your mouth that you WILL be tested. Stay focused and don’t get discouraged if you should make a slip up from time to time repent and go foreword. Don’t allow the enemy to stunt your growth in this area of your life.
