Bible Verse:
Romans 8:18 ( New Living Translation)
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
Todays Thought:
I would like to pose a question. What do you do when people hurt you? Do you think of ways to hurt them back or retaliate? Do you go to God in prayer and ask Him to give you the strength to endure the hurt and to help you to forgive the person/persons? What is it that you do?
So many times we get stung by others and that hurt leaves a bitter taste within our mouths. We find it hard to move foreword. We get trapped into our emotions and find it hard to deal with the heart of the matter. Some of us speak out of our mouths that we can’t forgive. The truth is we won’t forgive not that we can’t.
What we go through here on earth is small in comparison to what Christ endured. Yes our feelings get hurt, our pride is wounded and people may even scandalize our names but those little things are not really an attack on us personally its an attack on the anointing that rests upon our lives. Satan uses people and very often its people who are close to us to say or do something that would cause our flesh to rise up to take us out. Yes we get hit by individuals we don’t know but nothing does as much damage as those who are close to you. We must however show restraint, walk in love and forgive. We have to release those individuals to God and free ourselves of the very weights that the enemy has attempted to hold us down with. When you can do that than you have overcome the enemy in that area of your life.
An unforgiving spirit is nothing more than blockage. It blocks you from being free in God. It keeps your blessings from reaching you right where you are. It holds up your destiny. Someone once told me that ” though your hurt, you have to allow people to release themselves to you. Even if they never apologize to you. You must allow them to have their say and then you release them. That way you close every door way, and every portal in the enemies face”. She was right. Forgiveness is not about the person who wronged you, its about you.
So today allow me to encourage you to draw strength from the adversities that come your way. Defeat the enemy by slamming doors in his face by walking in a spirit of forgiveness. Remember that while things may appear to be giants to you, they are as small as ants in the eyes of God. What your enduring you are big enough and strong enough to take. As you go through in a spirit of love and grace. Gods glory will be revealed and all will know that you belong to the Mighty Christ.
